Keira's Guide to Winter + Optimal Skin Hydration

Winter is here and to be honest, I’m excited. I’m a big lover of winter as I adore rugging up, keeping toasty and warm. Here’s an insight into some of my winter rituals to help combat the havoc we often experience when the temperature dips and the heating is always on. Hydrated, healthy skin awaits you.

Winter is here and to be honest, I’m excited. I’m a big lover of winter as I adore rugging up, keeping toasty and warm. Putting the negative impact that winter can have on our skin aside for just one moment (we’ll come back to it, I promise), let's take a moment to celebrate the raw beauty of this season.

My tiny human looks so adorable in knits and beanies, I can’t resist taking some extra adorable snaps of little Hunter looking so snuggly and cute. Nourishing my body with warming meals is ideal, so it’s time to pull out the slow cooker and the best part is come 5pm, the house smells divine and dinner is ready to go. Let’s not forget heated throws, and cosy winter sets; I’m living in Arcaa Movement, Not So Mumsy pyjamas and my ugg slippers.

Now let's get back our skin. Here’s an insight into some of my winter rituals to help combat the havoc we often experience when the temperature dips and the air conditioner is constantly on.

Hydration plays an important role in optimal skin health and total wellbeing. My goal is to drink a minimum of 2 litres of water daily; this can be in the form of an afternoon Collagen Elixir, tea or filtered water. This is simple self-care and a non-negotiable for me, all year round.

Increase the use of the Habitual Beauty Hydrating Serum to twice daily and the reason for this is simple; Hyaluronic Acid. This powerhouse serum contains two molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid working to retain essential moisture on the surface and deep within.

Take some time to relax and soak in a warm bath while your baby or children are sleeping. Add some magnesium and essential oils for some next level zen; my favourite is a mix of lavender and clary sage. This blend will soothe dry skin; keeping it nourished and supple and also allow me a much needed moment of self-care after a chaotic day of work and mum life.

I will often apply a small amount of the Nourishing Moisturiser on my elbows and other dry areas on my body as they appear. The powerful, nourishing formulation helps to keep these areas soft and I avoid those nasty, rough elbows.

The ultimate evening combo for me is the Rejuvenating Facial Oil and the Hydrating Sleep Mask. For winter, I will increase usage of the Sleep Mask to 3-4 times a week and use the Oil both morning and evening. This powerhouse duo will keep my skin feeling nourished and combat dryness/dehydration as a result of the chilly weather and air conditioning exposure.

The holy grail of winter indulgence for me has to be Collagen Elixir hot chocolates before bed. Decadent, and delicious, it’s the perfect wind down after a busy winter day, all the while I am nourishing from within. With 10,000mg of Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Coenzyme-Q10 and 13 added vitamins, our Advanced Skin + Gut Health Collagen Elixir will do all the heavy lifting for you when it comes to creating and enhancing healthy, hydrated skin.

I’m looking forward to taking things a little slower this winter, and I hope you do too.

With love,
Keira xx
